In March 2022, I was in Dakar, the capital of Senegal, on business. It was the dry season and the climate was very pleasant, mild and dry. Outside the city, however, it was very dry. The Sahel is not far away.
The centre of Dakar is modern and has a good infrastructure. However, as elsewhere in the world, there are far too many cars in too little space. The traffic is correspondingly chaotic and time-consuming. Besides the modern city centre, where it is too expensive for most people to spend the week, there are a number of districts where the majority of the estimated 5 million inhabitants live.
Here I found it far more interesting and took a lot of photos.
