Namibia - Swakopmund

In 2017, it was finally time to go to Africa again. But where to? I wanted to feel the sultry heat again and immerse myself in the familiar smells and sounds. I was also looking forward to seeing the African wildlife, which I hadn’t really been able to photograph before.

But since my wife had never been to Africa before, I wanted to make it easier for her to get started, so we began our trip in Namibia. It’s a great country that has a lot of Africa to offer and is quite well-ordered compared to other African countries.

We arrived in the capital Windhoek, took over our vehicle and drove to Swakopmund on the coast. In both towns, even after more than a hundred years, the traces of the short German colonial period can still be found. In Swakopmund we acclimatised (also mentally) before heading north to Etosha National Park.
