Cuba is a country that you should definitely have seen as unprejudiced as possible before it possibly and unfortunately becomes like many other countries in Central America. For once, I repeat what I have already written about Havana:
Cuba is (still) something very special. It is a combination of many factors: the Caribbean attitude to life of joy and lightness despite material poverty and all the adversities of life, the beauty of decay and somehow also the socialist renunciation of exploitation and property. For the photographer, there are endless motifs, and it is not easy to escape visual clichés. Also and especially the people are endearing and interesting. Portraits of Cubans can be found in the “Street Photography” section of my website. My photos were taken during a visit in November 2015.
