Trinidad is a city on the central south coast of Cuba. It was founded by Spanish conquistadors in 1514. In 1519, the invaders under Cortés set out from here on their conquest of Mexico.
The central attraction is the Plaza Mayor, whose flair is still reminiscent of colonial times. The colonial centre is largely preserved and most of the houses are inhabited.
